Michael Nilsson was born on April 6, 1988 in Eskilstuna, Sweden. At age eight, inspired by rock ’n’ roll, he picked up the electric guitar and called up the school of music for lessons. He fell under the sway of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and King Crimson in his teens, and the authenticity of their music strongly influenced his decision to become a musician. Early bands he played with – Odd Perspective, Ulalume and Michael and his Angels -provided him with an introduction into the showy world of pop and rock, and by 2007 he was Michael Nilsson, with long hair and aspirations of stardom rustling about his head. After his years at S:t Eskil’s School of Art & Performance, Michael studied literature and music, including electric guitar, vocal and composition. At the school he started a collaboration with the producer and engineer Ola Sonmark. The last three years they’ve been working on Michael Nilsson’s first solo album, it will soon be released.
